I have just used the thermal fleece to make a little iron rest for my little iron. Should the metallic side face the top of the project, where the iron sits, or the bottom? Thankyou!
Karen replied: 29 Aug 22 at 13:08
Glad you got your answer as I just come across this I got a iron mat with silver side showing and I actually have to use something on top because it get very hot when I iron as reflex heat Bach to whatever I iron so hot I am surprised they could sell items like that and yes I got it from Amazon

I?m worried I will run out of the backing fabric for Xmas quilt BO M does anyone know name of fabric ?
Laura replied: 24 Aug 22 at 15:15
Do you mean the cream background fabric that we use in the blocks and supplied with the kit? I think there should be plenty of this supplied. You have to buy the quilt backing fabric and the wadding separately as these were not supplied in the kit.

I have the Christmas apron panel which I love, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas how to make it a slightly thicker/firmer as the material is thinner compared to my normal aprons. I'm not sure if I should place a lightweight interfacing on the back or maybe waterproof it once it's complete??? Any suggestions welcome. Thank you

I?m also going to back it with another fabric to make it reversible. I may put binding round it rather than bag it out. Looking forward to baking it now x

Hi I?m pretty new to this club. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the sizes for the cosmetic bag Debbie made on the live on the 13/8/22 please Thank you
Sherry replied: 23 Aug 22 at 08:44
Hello Margaret, I just had a quick look at the YouTube live on 13/8/22 and it looks like Debbie made the cosmetic bag from her Rainbow Birds panel which on her website is now sold out. The description of the item gives the overall size so maybe you could work it out roughly from that. Here's the link https://www.debbieshoresewing.com/shop/brands/debbie-shore/debbie-shore-rainbow-birds-panel/ I think you could probably make it in any size you like though, the making up of it will be the same. Good luck

Anne replied: 24 Aug 22 at 22:24
I can?t see which day you are talking about. She didn?t do one last Saturday , 20th August, lots of trouble with her internet. So Debbie did one on Sunday, 21st, at 4pm. I hope this helps.

Morning all. I brought some faux leather to make a nice bag with? what need do I need to use. Any advice about how I see it, cut it etc? Thank you
Bev replied: 25 Aug 22 at 18:48
If you look at the July project for a weekender duffel bag the video gives wonderful advice on faux leather. I've made 6 of them now and the faux leather is very easy to use if I use a jeans needle and the slippy slidey foot (Teflon?). If you have a feed dogs tension dial on your machine I use the top number when I'm joining the faux leather and fleece/foam whatever together. The video really does walk you through it. I don't know how to link it but projects/July/ and the video is near the top, before the instructions

Hi all, what is the difference between quilting cotton and 100% cotton.
Laura replied: 20 Aug 22 at 08:53
Hi?I think the thread count is higher on quilting cotton which makes it firmer and means it doesn?t drape so well for dressmaking etc.

ZIPS..SCREAM..HELP PLEASE... Debbie's Robins and Bobbins small tote/cosmetic bag. I am following the instructions , I have attached the zip, attached the lining, all good. However I am stumbling when it comes to the next step. Sewing the lining pieces and then the outer pieces together then bag out... Do I sew both the lining pieces and sew over the zip between the lining pieces and therefore to the lining pieces then stop..then sew the zip to the outer pieces..stop, then bag out? Or is it a continuous sew? what does move the zip towards the lining pieces mean? Sorry I don't get it..I have my thick head on...It has taken 2 days of zip frustration and unpicking to get to this point...my zip looks bunched at the ends of the bag..so I unpick yet again. can some one help please?...point me in the direction of 1 of Debbie's videos that uses 1 zip in a tote bag. Thank you.

Laura, thank you so much. Now I have seen thre video, I understand how to set the zip! Xxx
