I need a crossbody bag with a zip along the top , I can do the bag with a flap but need one with a zip, any ideas from Debbie?s patterns which I could do please?

There is a cross body bag for a dog walker on You Tube Debbie Shore which I would think could be adapted to put the zip in the top. Hope this helps Laura

Can anyone help me with the BOTM wreath have cut all templates out and fabric with a quarter inch seam!! Do you glue over the whole of the seam to template?? If so when you go to over edge stitch the eighth of inch to the edges you would be piercing the paper?? This would make it difficult to take the paper out. I'm totally confused please help!!!????

Hi just wondered why photos uploaded to the site seem to rotate from the original...you are unable to correct this before you submit to both the project photo gallery and to this ask a member page. Does anyone else have this problem or just me? ????

Hi, I have spoken to the web team and it's something to do with the original image. If it was taken landscape initially, even if the user rotated with Windows photo viewer or similar, it will still show in the original orientation when uploaded. The solution at present is to rotate using image editing software such as paint/photoshop etc and save it as a new file before uploading. I hope that helps!

Hi, I'm just about to start this year's BOM and would like clarification on what size comes first for the cutting instructions, ie is it width (across the fabric left to right) x length/depth (top to bottom). Apologies if this question has already been asked and answered. It's my first time attempting a quilt. Jennifer

Hi. Doing the block of the month. Haven't done a lot of the techniques. Doing the Turkey trot feathers. A bit lost. Sewn the the feather so I have a pointed top. Next do I fold the side edges to the centre at the back of feather. If so how can my seam allowance be at the side???? Also when you sew the finished feathers together do you put the feathers right sides together and Sew along 1 side ???. All help appreciated ????????

No just sew the feathers together as per the instructions. The thin end will be raw but then hidden by the turkey body.

Hi everyone. I've just printed out the pattern for the bow-tie from last month and wonder if I'm missing something? The 1" test square is the correct size but the pattern pieces don't come up large enough (part 1 measures 19.1cm but it says it should be 25.5cm) Has anyone else made this and know what I'm doing wrong? Oh... i have learnt something new today... i dont like EPP. Not happy with my wreath but in december if i have enough fabric left over i will be doing it again. I used my sewing machine, it just wasnt not working for me.

Yours looks great. I was also nervous about the EPP as never done anything like it before. And never done any quilting either. Looked forward to making this. I got a bit confused with it at first but I persevered and I just took my time and managed to do it. Quite pleased with how it?s turned out.

Hello / Good Morning, When I started to quilt almost six years ago, I had an issue of my quilts growing before the end. Careful with sizes and I have stumped my the people that quilt, why my quilts grow. One person said we would do one entire quilt together. Sizes-check, cutting-check, and through the quilt, step by step, she watched and double checked everything. My quilt grew on that one as well. No extra sashing, borders, blocks, however, quilt grew. I know this sounds strange but after six years I am beginning to wonder. Any ideas pls? Thank you for your time. Oh yes, my February turkey 2022 is double in body size. It's a hoot and aggreivating too.

Do you use plastic quilting rulers like the Olfa tool or a tape measure. I once trusted a tape measure I had with a set of knitting needles from China and my finished jumper was way out as the measuring grid lines were completely different to our imperial measurements. Just a thought (smiley face). I wish emojis worked on this site)

On step 2 of the Star wreath instructions... should this say place 8 diamonds across each strip of green fabric not 6?
