What are the best replacement rotary cutter blades?
Debbie replied: 20 Feb 21 at 18:36
I tend to buy multi packs of non-branded from Amazon, even the best quality can bw ruined when accidentally cutting over the likes of a pin, so this is one instance where I don't mind buying cheap!

Hello Everyone, what kind of waterproof fabric is good for making purse or bag please? Thank you
Eileen replied: 20 Feb 21 at 14:46
I recently tried a new fabric for me. I made my daughter one of Debbie's zipper boxes for storing shampoo and such while traveling. I used PUL - (Polyurethane Laminate). It is lightweight, sews easily, and provides a water-resistant lining. I was really pleased with the result.

Hello everyone,
Linda replied: 1 Mar 21 at 11:06
Hi Sara, welcome to HYSC. I have been a member for a few months now and I'm making the seminole quilt. I also make comforter throws - quilted topper backed with a shop bought fleece throw as well as clothes for my granddaughters. I like making bags too. HYSC is fabulous, Debbie gives clear instructions and the shop is brilliant as we, as members of HYSC, get a 10% discount. You simply add the discount code at check out and it is automatically applied. Have fun with your sewing Sara!

Hi I'm having a go at the kimono jacket but I'm a bit confused. ? On the pattern piece for the front do you need to make it slightly curved at the neck edge. ?It doesn't say so in the instructions but I've noticed on Debbie's cut fabric pieces it looks like there's a slight curve on them. ?Thanks. I'm eager to make this up. ?First big project for me to make want it perfect for a birthday gift for my sister that's different from the usual shop bought clothes. ?Thanks Debbie for your lovely designs? ? many thanks? ? michele?
Debbie replied: 20 Feb 21 at 18:38
I didn't curve it, the collar makes it look curved, but feel free to add a curve if you wish!

Brother machines usually have a helpline on the front, best to get in touch with them and ask which one is suitable...

Hi? I've just made the purse on P125 of the Half Yard Bags and Purses and find that the lining is much shorter than the outer.? I've checked that I cut the correct sizes and wondered if anyone else has come across this problem. Thanks Christine
Christine replied: 13 Feb 21 at 14:41
Please don't!!!! I've checked and made the purse again and it was my miscalculation. The second version is perfect!. Thanks for the response ... much appreciated.

So H640 or H630 would both be ok for satchels then?
Debbie replied: 10 Feb 21 at 18:01
H640 is slightly thicker than H640, I'd prefer H640 to give more structure to a satchel, hope that helps!

Is fusible adhesive sheet the same as fusible web used to fuse two pieces of fabric together.?
Debbie replied: 10 Feb 21 at 18:02
Thats the one! Such as Bondaweb, iron to the back of your fabric, cut out the shape, peel off the paper backing then re iron to your work. It's a permanent adhesion so little sewing is needed...
