Jo says...
“I grew up in a very creative, entrepreneurial family, so making things – and working for myself – always felt normal. In 2012, after taking some early kits to trade shows and realising there was real demand, I launched The Crafty Kit Company. Since then, I’ve focused entirely on designing and manufacturing ‘everything you need’ craft kits, primarily for beginners. What I’m most passionate about is helping people realize they are creative. So many people start by telling us they “aren’t crafty” and end up surprising themselves. Crafting can be calming, confidence-building and deeply satisfying, and I love creating products that make that accessible for everyone. I’m a big believer in simplicity. Both in life and in business, I think doing fewer things well – with care, clarity and kindness – is where the real magic happens.”

About Jo Lochhead
Jo is the founder and creative director of The Crafty Kit Company, an award-winning soft craft kit business in East Lothian, Scotland, and a life-long crafter. Coming from a creative background (her father was a watercolour artist, her brother is a ceramicist, and her mother knits, sews and crochets), she was making and stitching from an early age. Over the years she’s explored many crafts, from embroidery to needle-felting, but her guiding force has always been to achieve mindfulness and joy from the making experience.
