We've teamed up with Jo Lochead to bring you this must-make needle felting project!
If you haven't tried needle felting before, then you're in for lots of crafty fun. Thanks to Jo Lochead, we're treating you to a project from her book, Needle Felting Art. Jo guides you through step-by-step on how to make this Baby Bunny project that beautifully combines needle felting and embroidery. You’ll start by shaping the bunny using a template on felt fabric, then bring it to life with detailed needle felting. The embroidered cow parsley completes the scene.
FINISHED SIZE: 6in (15cm) diameter.
Top tips
- Using mottled, blended shades of grey and brown wool will create a lovely natural effect – just like a rabbit’s fur!
- Remember to occasionally peel your work off the mat to prevent it sticking.

You will need:
Equipment
- Baby Bunny template provided
- Felting needles: medium and fine gauge and a multi-needle tool with a brush mat (optional) Embroidery hoop 6in (15cm)
- Embroidery thread in green, brown, white and pink
- Embroidery needle
- Large felting mat
- Heat-erasable pen
Materials
- Backing fabric to create your design on
- A selection of felting wool in the following shades: light grey, grey, light brown, white or off-white, black for the eye, pink for inside the ears, moss green
- You can use short-fibred wool such as Corriedale Sliver or batts
