With just two simple semi-circles and some nifty gathering you can create these pretty butterflies in a matter of minutes!
About the project
These make such sweet gifts or decorations to add a flourish around your home. Keep them simple or add glitter paint to the edges, embroidery stitches or even little beads to spruce them up. The creative possibilities are endless.

This is a beginner-friendly “quick make,” and shouldn't take you more than 20 minutes to stitch!
Debbie's Top Tips
- Make multiple butterflies and add them to a wreath for a beautiful summer decoration.
- Add a hair clip onto the back to create an accessory or add a pin to craft your own brooch.
- You could even add your butterfly to dowelling or a fine stick and add to a bunch of real (or fabric!) flowers
- Pins
- Needle and thread or sewing machine
- Turning tool or tweezers
- Iron
- 7in (17.75cm) circle of fabric
- 5in (12.75cm) circle of fabric
- 2in x 2.5in (5cm x 6.25cm) piece of fabric
