The shape and size of these pockets is your choice, but you should create a pattern so that you can ensure that the pocket is even and the right shape before you cut your fabric. Once you have the finished shape drawn out, you will need to add a different set of seam allowances compared to a lined patch pocket.
Top tip! Whether your pocket has a square or curved bottom, stitch around the pocket with an extended straight stitch and a 5/8in (1.5cm) seam allowance at step 3. This will give you a guide as to where to press under the raw edges in steps 4-5.
