Recently my thumb joint is so sore now my first finger hurts a wee bit do you think this is from sewing I also have lupus what do you think guys x

Hi Tracy, you should probably see a doctor for that question. Not even a medical professional would want to answer that sort of question on here without examining you and having lots of other personal information about you. Good luck!

I am struggling to trace Maddie?s face onto my fabric. Any ideas as to the best or easiest way to do this please?
Moz replied: 16 Feb 23 at 06:42
If you have an A4 tracing light box it?s worth trying this. I put the printed face pattern onto the box and fabric on top - it worked a treat!

Hi, is it me not reading right about pocket for PJ top there's no template i can see. I know its only a small thing but would like measurement so i don't make it wrong size.
Laura replied: 11 Feb 23 at 16:00
There is a template for the pocket ?it was initially left off but admin corrected it and added the pocket. Maybe you printed it off before the correction was made.

My first ever garment, after getting all flustered it turned out to be a lot easier than I had imagined. Not perfect but really wearable and comfy. Thanks for the pattern Debbie and the inspiration ????

Thanks ladies for the support. Jolly, it was a Jersey fabric on Debbie's shop site x

Hello everyone?.can I please ask?when dressmaking and need to finish the seams with an overlocker to prevent fraying, does anyone overlock the edges of the individual pieces before sewing them together? Hope this makes sense and isn?t a silly question! Many thanks.

Is it me! Am I the only one whose PJ turned out looking more like Ratty????????????
Blodwen replied: 10 Feb 23 at 09:29
Megan, thank you, I did make the mistake of making it in felt but I really enjoyed making it I had to compromise a bit with the tail which really does look ratty.

Hi all. With the QAYG February 23 block of the month should we be cutting out the backing, the wadding and quilt it? Appreciate that we need to wait until May for how to join as we've the extra white squares to add to the sashing.
Laura replied: 11 Feb 23 at 16:10
Yes I think that Echo Quilting for the February block is great ..that is what I have used on the blue and pink pieces.

Hi I?m stuck how do u sew the gathered sleeves on Maddie?s tunic
Laura replied: 7 Feb 23 at 11:46
Have you gathered the tops of the sleeves between the two marks on the front and back of the sleeve and gather up until the sleeve top measures about 8? across. ?once you have done this you should be able to place the sleeve right sides together against the tunic front and back, pin well and sew. It may be helpful if you line the fold of the sleeve up with the seam of the front and back of the tunic and ease the gathering from there. Hope this helps

Thanks to members who replied to my one step buttonhole foot. My machine did indeed come with one but my search is specifically the one that Debbie used where she put the button at the top end of the foot and it calculated the length of the hole needed. There seem to be a few on the Internet but nothing like I saw.
Laura replied: 7 Feb 23 at 11:22
As per Debbie?s response below I have assumed that your machine has a one step buttonhole function ..I hope that this the case !
