This might sound a bit thick of me but just looking at the lovely onesies templates for Maddie and Robyn and there doesn?t seem to be the length included on most of the sides of the pattern pieces. Should it print off at the correct size? Probably sounds a stupid question but only just joined and not sure.

Yes they print off at correct size but check the box that is in the corner .

I have just joined, and I want to make project bags for my knitting and crochet projects, so my question is which book, or bag would you suggest for this thank you.
Alice replied: 31 Jul 22 at 18:37
I think Debbie's Japanese Knot Bag would be perfect for projects. Or maybe the Gardening Bag from July 2021 as it has lots of compartments for yarn etc?

I'm doing the everyday bag and I'm having issues with the sewn in piping cord. I'm using a thin shop bought piping cord and I worry it's not wide enough. It should be fine if I use a 1/4" seam allowance but the pattern said 1/2". Does it matter? I really don't want to unpick everything and buy a new one!

It looks lovely ?I am sure that it will be fine if you are consistent with your chosen seam allowance.

I?m looking for a simple makeup/wash bag pattern with a zip to close and a small zipped front pocket ?
Megan replied: 31 Jul 22 at 06:25
https://youtu.be/8oS0UMEkOKI This hasn?t got a zipped front pocket but I?m sure you could adapt it.

I?m making some bunting (so any tips on that would be great!) but I also need to put some letters on the bunting pieces. What?s the best way to do this?
Megan replied: 31 Jul 22 at 06:32
I cut up the shapes (2 for each triangle) then appliqu? letters (I usually zig zag stitch them or if you were doing it by hand you could do a blanket stitch) onto one of the shapes out of the 2 then put the 2 right sides together and sew around the triangle but leave the top open. Next turn them right side out and press. Make however many you want and then just sew them into your bias binding. Agreeing with Laura you could use the download on Debbie?s website: https://www.debbieshoresewing.com/shop/downloads/bubble-alpabet-applique-shapes-download-one-size/ And remember to use the 10% discount. Hope this helps

Hi can someone tell me what size top stitch needle to use for the overnight bag? Thankd
Bev replied: 4 Aug 22 at 00:08
I used the same needle but felt that I preferred 3 for my second (and subsequent) bags. Also, a well placed top stitch makes hand stitching the lining much easier.

Would basal foam be to stiff to make the weekend bag (may2019) when just using cotton fabric please and would you put it on the zip piece at the top or use something lighter as well so it?s not bulky ?
Laura replied: 28 Jul 22 at 21:01
Debbie used Bosal for the Sewing Machine Bag so might be worth having a look at that video. She does advise to cut bosal back to the seam allowance so that you sew against the bosal rather than through it so that may be something to consider especially around the zip area.

In the materials for the Smocked Cushion project it says ? gauze? and ? cotton wool balls? but can?t see any mention of them in the instructions. Am I missing something?

Love this phone/dog bag. Made this one for my daughter and enlarged it a bit. I also put a letterbox zip on the back.

Love the fabric also.

I?m making the weekend bag and accidentally glue the handles on upside down so now I?ve got Gutterman glue on my fabric where it shouldn?t be. It has now dried on so is there any way to remove it please.
Helen replied: 26 Jul 22 at 23:55
Hi Annabelle, Try using Acetone or nail polish remover on your to remove the glue but just try it on a small piece first to make sure that it works. I got gutterman glue on a bag that l was making and I used acetone and the glue came off.l hope that this works for you, good luck with it. Helen
