Hi, I am going to make this moths project, the holdall. Can I use suede material, and do I need to use a suede needle?

I am doing the BOTM YUM there isn't any colours written for the antlers so I am doing them in 1st metallic same as the pudding as of pic, I hope this is right???
Sherry replied: 21 Jul 22 at 18:06
I've just started this block and have the same question. Like you Sally, I'm assuming 1st metallic although there's no reason we couldn't use another colour as they're not very big so won't use a lot of fabric. It's a shame every month there are inaccuracies or omissions in the patterns which have to be amended. This is the reason I don't start them straight away so have time for everything to be ironed out.

Hello Making the lovely overnight bag but as you are out of stock of the firm fleece what equivalent can I use please. Margaret
Debbie replied: 4 Jul 22 at 10:58
We'll have more stock either tomorrow or Weds, you could use Decovil, or H640 but that would make a softer bag. Foam would work but trim it away from the zip. Hope that helps!

I?m going to try and make the hold all , would decovil light work or would that be too stiff?

Hi, for this months sew, instead of 2 zips can we have 1 long zip instead? If so what length pls? Thanks for your help
Bev replied: 4 Jul 22 at 22:10
Debbie and Barb I am mortified. Once I printed the instructions and template I never even looked for, let alone noticed, the video at the top. The printed instructions were so clear. The video is even better, as always. Thank you so much. I will calm down now .

Hi All Am I right in saying on the Gnome Alone BOTM The body should be 2nd metallic. Not 1st Metallic as stated I have the original BOTM colours which are the same colours as the pictures and the picture shows 2nd Metallic not first. Plus using 1st metallic it will clash with the top of the drunkards path BOTM which would be the same material Shiralee

Anyone else having a strange issue printing off the pattern for YUM? My printer has printed it like this and it shows it like that on the print preview too, weird. Beverley

Good afternoon members. I'm having trouble printing the Yum pattern. There seems to be two drawings on top of each other.

Hi everyone I am a complete novice when it comes to dressmaking and have never read a pattern until now. I watched all Debbie's tips for dressmaking which were amazing and so helpful to me. I am very disheartened though as I brought a pattern and made a toile for a dress 2 sizes bigger than I normally buy in clothes and it was unbelievably small when made up. I would have had to have made it about 4 sizes bigger to fit me. I admit I didn't measure myself before buying the pattern, hence when making it I went up 2 sizes. Can anyone tell me please if all patterns come up so small as I am a size 14 and made a size 18. Feeling very deflated after managing to work the pattern out and make the top half of the dress. Thank you
Alice replied: 2 Jul 22 at 19:39
Don't worry about the size names (14, 16, etc) just focus on the measurements. Some pattern houses even use their own numbering system size 1, 2, 3 or A, B, C, etc. so the "name" of each size doesn't really matter other than to make it easier to follow which line you are cutting out. When I'm between sizes, I tend to go for the bigger one and then streamline the bits that can be taken in a little. Well done on making a toile! This is the exact reason we make them, so if something needs adjusting we can do so without ruining our chosen fabric :)
