Hi, I am new to sewing and was wondering if Debbie's downloadable patterns print off in the size that you need them, or do you need to upscale them?? I am thinking about things like the oven glove (in the first instance). Sorry if this is a daft question.
TINA replied: 1 Aug 20 at 21:00
Hi. Yes Debbie's patterns are true to size/measurements .. The printer settings are important. The computer in my local library does not print true to size so I use this for the instructions only and ask my son to print off the patter as it has more accurate settings. Happy sewing.

I am a beginner and I purchased some double sided fusible foam by mistake (really wanted single sided) and I am now stuck as to how to use it. I bought it to use in making a bag but I only want to fuse one side to the outer fabric. ?How do I stop the 2nd side from sticking when I I iron it? Thanks

Thank you I'll try that

Hi does anyone have a copy of the High style handbags CD-ROM? I have been searching everywhere for it and it's not available anywhere! Here's hoping one of you lovely people have a copy?

Hi Debbie after scouring the internet for over a month I finally came across a lady selling one! On my birthday 18th July too! So I'm one very happy lady and have already made 2 Big Bow Bags!

I have just made a bag?with Bosal single sided fusible?foam. ?But after I have machined it & pulled it through the lining it is creased. ?Can you tell me? 1. Can I re iron the bag and if so on what temperature & for how long & do I use steam. ? 2. Also when I?applied it I used a dry iron on cotton for six seconds With fabric between the iron & Bosal I am not sure whether I am applying the Bosal correctly & I am afraid to try anything incase I make it worse. ?It is still a very nice bag but I would be happier if I could remove the creases. Thanks Jackie ?

You can give the bag a good blast of steam to eliminate the wrinkles, as long as your fabric will take the heat....

I am having problems with inserting the sleeves, can anyone help or suggest how to do this?
Lorraine H replied: 31 Jul 20 at 21:15
Hi Debbie, It is item 4 on the instructions for the Maddie dress- Sew the sleeves into the armholes, right sides together. For some strange reason I am struggling and I have sewn sleeves into dolls dresses before. May be I have cut the sleeves wrong, I will try again and if need be cut some more sleeves. Lou M

Hello? I have recently subscribed to Debbies Half Yard Sewng Club and could I please ask when it has the instructions for the projects is it the widths or the heights of the projects that come?first. Also are there any projects suitable for an 8 year old child?messenger bag and matching purse. ? Thank you Lynne Gibson

Hi Lynne, Widths always come first, and we don't have a specific child's messenger bag at the moment but I'll put it on the list!

The easiest way is to pop the ends of the straps inside the top seam of the bag, sew facing downwards before adding the lining, this should be in the QR video on the packaging if that helps!

Hi Can anyone suggest another wool for her hair. I've tried to get a brown in the Alpaca but it's either out of stock or very expensive. I'm not sure what else would be suitable Many thanks Kathy

The Alpaca is lovely as it's curly, but any knitting yarn would work!

I?ve been browsing the internet looking for examples of bags using different fabrics in a similar way to the Elizabeth bag and I found an old post about a carpet bag. I love the picture and would love to try this but I can?t find the pattern or hardware (I can find clasps but not the frame)?does anyone know where I could get the pattern or any sources for the hardware?? I?m hoping that this might be one that?s revisited and comes available again?
