What's the best way to square up fat quarters. Not having any success
Debbie replied: 5 Dec 21 at 09:55
I have a large cutting mat, 24" ruler and I use a rotary cutter, it;'s easy then to line up the fabric to the grid on the mat to make accurate squares...

Can i replace an invisible zip on a skirt with a normal zip?
Jilly - (FB Wispa Labrador) replied: 6 Dec 21 at 07:36
My neighbour busted her work skirt zip. She asked if I could help. I unpicked the skirt, removed the zip, I only had a normal zip (rather than an invisible one) I restitched replaced it and stitched it back together, she said it?s a better fit than before.

If I put a photo of a project I have made in the Projects instructions, does if automatically get considered for Members Make of the Week, or do I have to send it somewhere else too?
Megan replied: 29 Nov 21 at 19:45

Got some of tartan fleece. Just want to make it into blanket. Any suggestions on how to finish edges without making them too bulky?
Jilly - (FB Wispa Labrador) replied: 23 Nov 21 at 11:35
You could bind them.

Is there a way of saving the current projects on my tablet or laptop before they are taken off this page please. I am quite new to this and not sure if this is possible to do.
Sharon replied: 26 Dec 21 at 13:54
Just another thought I had on this subject. How do I find out which projects are about to be removed from the site as can't see how to find out.

I have this zipped panel from a botched project and I want to make it into a simple little coin pouch instead. No matter how I go about it something goes wrong. I don't want any raw edges. It's lined (the bottom of the panel is shown in the bottom right of the four pieces). The remaining three pieces are meant to be the back and the lining. Could really use some help. Thanks!

I'm not sure how you would exactly go about putting it all together to make a coin pouch, but you could always put bias binding around the edges, that would hide them

Advice needed from you lovely people in my phone. I need to make a strap for a syringe driver bag and I will need to join the fabric to make a 55" long strap. Should I use an edge to edge flat seam or join the two pieces on the diagonal? Which do you think will be stronger seam. Thanks, Lynda x
Debbie replied: 19 Nov 21 at 08:59
A diagonal seam is less noticeable than a straight seam and will sit flatter as when folded over the two sides don't sit on top of each other, so that would be my choice!
